Modern Objective Design (simplified as ‘mod‘) is an architecture studio that provides design consultancy and design leadership services for all stages of project work on a wide variety of project types.
Mod is committed to the process of design evolution that works from the big idea to the smallest detail. Mod works with clients initially with hand drawings to effectively move through preliminary concepts and ideas to quickly and effectively establish design direction prior to committing to CAD and modelling. Mod’s design principles are about keeping things simple, objective and contemporary. Designs need to make meaningful and positive contributions to the environment and society. Design should be evolved and determined through rational and evidence-based criteria and metrics.
Mod was founded by Jason Boyle in 2019 after nearly fifteen years working with international architectural practices in the UK and Australia.
He is a registered architect in Australia and the United Kingdom and is a member of the Australian Institute of Architects and the Royal Institute of British Architects. He is a registered architect in Western Australia (ABWA: 3697) and South Australia (APBSA: 3997). His studio is in West Perth, Western Australia.
Mod is unique in that it is a sole consultancy that forms partnerships with other consultants to suit a project’s specific profile; creating a tailored design team best suited for the project requirements of a client. It also allows clients to utilise extensive experience, knowledge and ability without the associated costs sourcing equivalent experience through larger practices. All clients work directly with Jason, and he is the one-point contact for design and design leadership through a project.
Since being established, Mod has been appointed by various clients, contractors, engineering consultants as well as other architectural practices, to provide architectural design and/or design leadership for their projects.
As a sole consultancy Mod is currently focused on feasibility, master planning and concept design work for transport infrastructure, urban planning, industrial, commercial and cultural projects. Mod will partner with another architectural studio as required and has a close and long-standing partnership with PLUS Studio in Perth, WA.
